Color Me Lolita started out as a safe space for Black Women in Lolita, Gothic, and any other Alternative Fashion. I have since extended it to all POC, men and women.
I think it’s shame that some people out there think that the Alternative Fashions has no place in the Black community (or any other POC community for that matter). Well I’m here to tell my Darker skinned girls (and guys) who want to do this, that there IS a place for you. Don’t let anyone tell you any different. :)
*~*~* I'm trying to be as inclusive as I can, so help keep this blog active by submitting! Those who submitt regularly may be asked to become a blog member
Also, I am aware that there are rules as to what a Lolita is, and what she can and can’t wear; however, as we all know, rules sometimes can be broken. Not every picture will be exactly Lolita or Gothic, some will just have certain aesthetics that I think would look good with the fashion. Be creative, be unique, be you.
This site was created for the purpose of expanding the knowledge of Lolita Fashion, from Sweet Lolita, to Kodona, to Gothic Lolita, to Aristocrat and so-on, and also to building a large and friendly community of Lolitas to discuss the fashion we love.
The Lolita Handbook:
This journal is meant as a way to ease beginners into the fashion and provide resources to more experienced Lolitas - it is by no means a rule book. Take only what you want from this and use it to help you develop your own personal style.
EGL: The Elegant Gothic & Lolita Community
Our mission is help others share, grow, and learn in the Lolita fashion. The community discussions focus on Japanese Lolita fashion and its manifestations the world over.
EGL PLUS: PRETTY GIRLS COME IN ALL SIZES
The first community for girls sizes 12 US and up to discuss lolita fashion, post pictures, and share stories and links.
This community is size-positive, so anyone can join and be supportive. We won't bash you for being a size 2, but the focus here is on plus-sized girls.
