Color Me Lolita

I’m a searching the net far and wide. From Google, to Facebook, to Tumblr, everywhere and anywhere, for pictures of Women of Color in Gothic, Lolita, and any other Alternative Fashion outfits. For some strange reason, I find it harder to find these pictures.

I think it’s shame that some people out there think that the Alternative Fashions, that are most commonly seen on white people, has no place in the Black community. Well I’m here to tell my Darker skinned girls who want to do this, that there IS a place for you. Don’t let anyone tell you any different. :)

Also, I am aware that there are rules as to what a Lolita is, and what she can and can’t wear; however, as we all know, rules sometimes can be broken. Not every picture will be exactly Lolita or Gothic, some will just have certain aesthetics that I think would look good with the fashion. Be creative, be unique, be you.

for folks who write in asking about hair types.. this might help!

So, If I go by this, I’ve got 3c hair (with some 4a thrown in). <——when I actually take the time to moisturize, seal, and define my curls properly. otherwise, like right this second, I’ve got this fuzzy cotton ball on my head.
